Biography: After leaving the hallowed halls of Petoskey High School, I attended Hope College in Holland, Michigan, receiving my B.A. degree in 1970 and a teaching license. The following year I attended Western Michigan University and received my M.A. in Special Education - Teaching the Emotionally Disturbed.

In 1971 I married Paul. We just celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary with a trip to Prince Edward Island. It was beautiful and very relaxing.

Paul and I lived in Chicago where Paul attended medical school. I taught in the United Cerebral Palsy School and learned a lot about teaching and what motivates kids to learn. It was a very interesting classroom because only two of the children could talk and only one could walk. I also learned about living in a big city. Our son Andrew was born there. He is now attending Clemson University in South Carolina receiving his P.H.D. in Computer Science.

We moved to Saginaw, Michigan where Paul did his residency. It was great to be a stay-at-home mom, and welcome Anna into our family. Anna is living in Chicago and working on her M.A.in History. Being in Michigan gave us a chance to visit many relatives and have Grandma Reus close by.

After three years in Saginaw we moved to Ashland, Wisconsin where we have lived ever since Jacob was born here. He is a senior at Hope College getting a degree in Psychology. I have returned to teaching and am enjoying it very much. I teach gifted and talented children in the primary grades at one
school and in grades Kindergarten through Sixth at another school.

In our spare time Paul and I enjoy gardening, spending time at our cottage, and traveling. We were in Michigan recently at my Mom's and my whole family was there. It was a lot of fun to all be together since Susan lives in Alabama, Jim in Washington, Mary in California, Janet in Indiana and Kathy in Michigan.

I hope to see as many of you as I can at the reunion. It will be fun to catch up on each other's lives. See you on September 8th!
