Biography: After leaving Petoskey, I graduated from Big Rapids High School. I did return to Petoskey to visit my mother who was in a nursing home at which time I stayed with a few of you guys. After High School I became a professional student. While in graduate school I became the studio manager at WCMU-TV. Once I graduated from college for the fourth time, WCMU could not afford me; so I had to get a real job. I like the seasonal work of school so I became a college professor specializing in Theatre: Scenic and Lighting design and Technical direction. I taught 6 years in Vermont at Castleton State College and the last 22 years I have been at St. Lawrence University. I really like small towns and small Universities. I have designed scenery, lights for theatre and concerts and built scenery all over the U.S. from Lake Placid to Jupiter, Flordia even in Honolulu, Hawaii. I worked on a film for television in Puerto Rico. It is great to get paid to have fun. My hobbies are sailing Hobie cats in the summer and finding solutions to problems. Even when not asked. My wife Anneke not only is the Director of Associated Colleges she is
also the international student advisor at St. Lawrence. Her hobby is gardening,
which I get to help with. We have three lily gardens and numerous other My son, Ryan, is in graduate school at Tulane. He is finishing up his degree in Public Health and Tropical Medicine-- his speciality is disasters. He has already been to Africa three times and India once. Why couldn't he be a coach or something safe?. I have just finished writing my first screen play, which will collect dust for years. Anneke and I visited Petoskey this summer and I took her to all our old haunts and the football field. It is great hearing from you all. You meant so much to me and left a great impression on me after I left Petoskey. My Love and best to you all.
