Biography: Since this is the first reunion I've been able to attend, I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone. Working on the reunion committee has made me realize just how much I've missed over the past years, but miles and circumstances always got in the way. As you can probably tell by the list of kids and grandkids, family takes up a huge portion of my life these days. In fact, if our newest grandson-to-be, Zachary, had a due date any later, I wouldn't be coming to this reunion either. I'll be flying to Jacksonville, Florida near the end of August (hopefully, he'll wait for Grandma to get there before he makes his grand entrance) and return just a couple days before the reunion. We won't get into all the twists and turns my life has taken over the past 35 years; suffice it to say that my husband and I are celebrating our 10th anniversary in August, and I am very content to be back where I probably always belonged. Besides family and work, we keep busy with the traditions of my husband's Native American ancestry, with the Knights of Columbus, and with trying to fit in a weekend here and there of camping. I always thought that life would become slower and simpler once the kids were all grown, but for those of you who are still waiting for that to happen, don't hold your breath! The older I get, the busier I get! That's OK though - keeping busy makes it easier to forget how old I'm getting, at least until the aches and pains start reminding me. Besides, we have a cocker spaniel/golden retriever dog and a cat who are both older than I am (at least in dog & cat years), so they make me feel pretty darn young. All in all, life is terrific. I can't believe it's been 35 years since we graduated from old PHS, and I'm sure we'll all look like this should be only our 10th class reunion (at least that's how I feel sometimes, especially when no mirrors are within looking distance). See you soon. |
